Galerie Inter presents African art, courtesy of Dr. SmalleLouis Trichardt, Limpopo Province, South Africa |
During a recent
stay in South Africa, we had the chance to meet Dr. Smalle and have a brief
look at his truely extensive collection. We present here with his permission
a selection of the items on Arican art, among which Venda art
has a prominent place. The Phavenda people live in the Limpopo Province in the
north of the Republic of South Africa, close to the border with Zimbabwe. The
Venda artists are very productive.
