Kambel Dieng lives on the Senegalese island Gorée. As a painter he is a self-taught person. Thus he also taught himself how to make colours from natural materials. He takes his inspiration from his natural environment and from cultural events around him. In 1996 he participated in the project 'Ultramar'.
